Many guests prefer the intimate stays at Cuba’s Casa Particulars. These are privately owned Cuban homes. In Playa Larga, most every home is a Casa Particular since tourism is hugely important to the economy of this small town. In these homes, guests mingle with their Cuban hosts, and by the end of their stay have new friends, and may have a greater insight in to life in Cuba.

I try and arrange for our stays to be on the beach at Playa Larga. Although there are abundant rentals throughout town, I know that guests enjoy a swim after a long days fishing, and sharing a drink while watching the sun set over the Bay of Pigs. All of these accommodations are simple, but clean and very enjoyable.
