ZAPATA LIVE-ABOARD FOR FALL OF 2020
TIME TO BOOK YOUR CUBA ADVENTURE! I am returning to the lovely Zapata Peninsula to host a week in November of 2020. This will be my third straight year hosting this trip, and it comes around due to the demands of anglers wanting to return. This is a great trip.
Here are some things to know. Generally, we will spend at least one night in Havana at the front of this trip. I usually plan some activities in and around the city, especially helpful to those guests in Cuba for the first time. The travel time to Zapata is pretty short. We go by bus about 3 hours to the port where we meet our boat. From there, our moorage is about another 3 hours.
All flats fish are available in Zapata. Especially noted for its prolific population of Bonefish, anglers have the chance to fish for them while wading or from the skiff. There are also many Permit here, as well as resident Tarpon, Jacks, Snapper, Snook and Barracuda. Most notable is that unlike other destinations, you only have to share a skiff 3 of your 6 fishing days. The other 3 you get to fish in a single skiff, and decide what you prefer to do, for every second of the fishing day!
